The Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) is a national hunger relief organization that was founded in 1979 in Big Island, Virginia by two United Methodist ministers - Ray Buchanan and Ken Horne. The founders identified the ongoing problems of hunger and food waste and resolved to do something about it. Farmers and growers were asked to donate their surplus or unmarketable crops.
Join us on Wednesday, August 21 from 12-1:30pm for our SHARE Greater Lynchburg Peer-to-Peer Lunch and Learn hosted by Roads to Recovery.
Attendees will hear about history and programs from Executive Director Sandy Kanehl and David Lewis & Kylee Howes, Men's and Women's Program Managers.
Lunch will be provided by SHARE Greater Lynchburg and sponsored by Freedom First Credit Union.

At first, Harvest Outreach Center started their organization serving two clients, now they are serving up to 350 students on any given day in both Lynchburg City and Campbell County school systems, and their own private school for students with disabilities, Beacon Academy in Rustburg.
