Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. GLHFH offers a hand up to hard-working, financially stable families, partnering with them to build safe, affordable homes.

THE RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of resource development for GLHFH. Leadership for all friend-raising initiatives, including special events, major gifts, planned giving, and home sponsorship acquisition. Additionally, the Manager will solicit in-kind services and product donations for the homebuilding program and the ReStore. The Manager will work with the Board of Director’s Development Committee to create a Resource Development Plan with a focus to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporate sponsors, public and private foundations, the faith community, and individual sponsors. This position offers the potential for growth in future responsibilities.

 

World Help has the following Job Opening: Donor Reporting Intern 

World Help, a Christian humanitarian organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of impoverished communities around the world, is looking to hire a Donor Reporting Intern to serve as a support role to the Donor Reporting Team by processing international correspondence and annual progress reports, conducting administrative tasks such as printing, sorting, labeling, and writing Thank You notes. Together, these responsibilities allow the Donor Reporting Intern to ensure that World Help is processing and fulfilling incoming and outgoing Child Sponsorship correspondence/reporting in a timely manner.

In order to be selected for the Donor Reporting Internship position, World Help is searching for a devout follower of Christ whose worldview correlates with the company’s mission and values.

Scope of Job

  • 75% - Process Annual Progress Reports – Time will be dedicated to receiving, processing, sorting, and assembling incoming child sponsorship annual progress reports from World Help international partners, screening content, and overseeing the data entry of processed reports into the CRM database.
  • 15% - Process Incoming International Correspondence – Time will be dedicated to receiving, processing, sorting incoming child correspondence from World Help international partners, screening content, and uploading the data entry of processed correspondence into the CRM database.
  • 10% - Miscellaneous Administrative Tasks – Time will be dedicated to miscellaneous administrative tasks such as special projects geared towards correspondence and writing thank you notes.

World Help has the following Job Opening: Spanish Translator Intern 

Whoever is taking on this role must have fanatical attention to detail. In order to be selected for the Spanish Translator Internship position, World Help is searching for a devout follower of Christ whose worldview correlates with the company’s mission and values.

Scope of Job

  • 90% - Spanish to English Translation/Transcription- Time will be dedicated to reviewing reports, shipping labels, and/or any other documentation, ensuring accurate Spanish to English translation, and correcting mistakes using programs such as Kapwing, Descript, and Google Translate.
  • 10% - English to Spanish Translation/Transcription - Time will be dedicated to reviewing documentation and ensuring accurate English to Spanish translation for partners and correcting mistakes using programs such as Kapwing, Descript, and Google Translate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review partner reports, shipping manifests, and/or other documents to identify and correct Spanish to English and English to Spanish translation errors.
  • Utilize Kapwing to transcribe Spanish videos and create English subtitles; review and correct subtitles to ensure accuracy.
  • Utilize Descript to transcribe Spanish audio files to Spanish text.
  • Utilize Google Translate to translate text from Spanish to English; review and correct any mistakes.
  • Occasionally translate pictures and PDF documents from Spanish to English from scratch.
  • Any additional duties needed to help drive the mission, vision, and organizational values of World Help.

Advanced Spanish speaking, reading and writing skills required

World Help has the following Job Opening: Information Technology Technician Intern 

Whoever is taking on this role must be adaptable, exhibit strong communication skills, and have fanatical attention to detail. In order to be selected for the Information Technology Technician Intern position, World Help is searching for a devout follower of Christ whose worldview correlates with the company’s mission and values.

Scope of Job

  • 85% - IT Support - Time will be dedicated to monitoring, troubleshooting, and fulfilling IT Requests regarding equipment, hardware, software, and World Help’s network. Time will also be dedicated to responding to IT emergencies during working hours as new issues come to fruition.
  • 10% - Inventory Management - Time will be dedicated to conducting IT Audits throughout the internship including building assets and inventory checks.
  • 5% - Assisting Media Operations - Time will be dedicated to assisting run media/video for in-person and remote staff meetings, ensuring that each meeting runs smoothly and that employees have a positive experience while attending these meetings.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Enrolled in an Information Technology or related field degree program, or recently graduated with an interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology.
  • Technical and computer efficient.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills that allow for efficient teamwork.
  • Clear/effective written and verbal communication skills


 Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Knowledge of new and applicable computer systems, information, software, hardware, and technology upgrades as they are released.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure and Active Directory.
  • Basic knowledge of LAN, WAN, Powershell, Microsoft server, TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, and SMTP.
  • Abide by ITIL best practices regarding incident management, configuration management, and all other applicable functions.
  • Experience working with IT hardware (computers, servers, networks, printers, and scanners).
  • Experience working with networking devices (firewalls, switches, VPNs, wireless access points).
  • Experience working with operating systems (Windows 7/8/10 and Mac).
