Strategic Communications Intern for Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation and

SHARE Greater Lynchburg (SUMMER 2025/ FALL 2025)

The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation (GLCF) works to solve our community’s greatest challenges by providing grants and scholarships, and by helping individuals, families, and organizations create their charitable legacy. The GLCF serves the City of Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell, with income distributed annually to charitable organizations within the community. In 2024, the GLCF awarded $2.39 million to 251 charitable organizations, and will distribute even more in the current fiscal year.

SHARE Greater Lynchburg is a program of the GLCF, a community engagement conduit offering simple ways for neighbors, nonprofits and businesses to come together and strengthen our local community. At SHAREGreaterLynchburg.org, you can find 187 local nonprofits and engage with them how you choose: donate, volunteer, attend events or buy much needed items from wish lists.

The 2025 Summer or Fall Intern will work on strategic communications 10 hours per week with responsibilities to include e-newsletter and digital media and assist in the management of a content calendar for all external communications for SHARE Greater Lynchburg. Proficiency with Airtable, Canva, MailChimp, Hootsuite and social media platforms Facebook and Instagram will be expected. The intern can work flexibly from any location with at least one in-person meeting expected weekly.
