What We Do

The website platform of SHARE Greater Lynchburg (SHAREGreaterLynchburg.org) seeks to serve all residents of the City of Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell counties with no limit to race, gender, ethnicity, age or income. This is a free website available to anyone who has access to the Internet. SHARE Greater Lynchburg is a community engagement conduit offering simple ways for neighbors, nonprofits and businesses to come together and strengthen our local community. We make it easy for people to find local nonprofits and engage with them how they choose. Our open and inclusive platform amplifies the needs of the entire nonprofit community, giving all organizations a chance to be seen and heard regardless of size, focus area or budget. Currently, we feature 185 nonprofit organizations on the platform.

Monthly peer-to-peer Lunch & Learn gatherings, hosted by SHARE Greater Lynchburg and held at area nonprofit locations draw in colleagues across the sector for fellowship and mission sharing moments. SHARE also offers season Mixers, collaborates on Board 101 classes, and hosts an Executive Director Workshop series.

SHARE Greater Lynchburg is a program of the Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation. President & CEO Kathryn Yarzebinksi said, "SHARE addresses a critical need in our community by bringing nonprofits together. In addition to the online presence, our SHARE program provides invaluable face-to-face opportunities for nonprofits of all sizes to come together. SHARE gives local nonprofits a tangible way to build relationships that result in better communication and collaboration, which helps stretch our grant dollars further."
