Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest

Are you interested in working at an important historic site, but don't want the pressure of learning an entire tour? The Poplar Forest Museum Shop may be the place for you! Welcome visitors, direct them to the start of their guided tour and help them download and use our Poplar Forest smartphone app. Museum Shop volunteers also play an integral part in helping keep the Museum Shop well stocked with merchandise and clean. 

To become a volunteer at Poplar Forest, you must complete a training program to prepare you for your volunteer position. Volunteers should be willing to work a minimum of six hours (or two shifts) per month during the tour season (mid-March through December 30).
