Join Us on the Farm!
Whether you come once or once a week, your help is welcome on the farm at Lynchburg Grows.
During the summer our volunteer hours are: Monday through Thursday
8:30am to 12:30pm. Winter volunteering is closed December 21st to February 28th.
What will I be doing there?
You’ll be working outside or in the greenhouses. Tasks range from weeding to sifting compost to moving wood chips to pruning rose bushes. This is a working farm, so come prepared to get dirty and have some fun!
What do I need to bring?
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Please bring:
- your own gardening gloves
- a refillable water bottle
- sunscreen and/or a hat
Could I bring a group out to volunteer?
Yes, as long as you have scheduled it first. Please contact shelley@lynchburggrows.org to make arrangements for groups.
Can my kids volunteer, too?
Children under 17 are welcome to volunteer, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. But if you are a high-schooler who wants to become a regular volunteer, please contact Sam Parsons at the email above to discuss it.

Can people with disabilities volunteer?
Yes, we welcome volunteers with disabilities. We do require that volunteers with disabilities have someone (job coach, social worker, family member) to accompany them to the farm and assist them as needed.
