A seven-acre urban farm providing purposeful jobs for people with disabilities who help us grow thousands of pounds of food every year for the community. We donate food each week to organizations that feed the hungry and homeless, supply food to 200 families through The Veggie Box CSA, our community supported agriculture program, and, through our produce prescription program, FreshRx. Doctors prescribe patients to FreshRx, and the program provides cooking and nutrition classes along with produce to take home each week after class. Our produce is available for purchase at The Farm Store, which is open during the growing season from March to November. We also carry items from other local farms and orchards, along with specialty items by local food artisans. SNAP/EBT users get a 50% discount on fruit and produce, thanks to Virginia Fresh Match incentives. In normal times, we host many volunteer groups throughout the year, have two large annual events on the farm, and serve as a favorite destination for student groups and tours. You can support the farm by volunteering or by joining The Veggie Society, our "club" for supporters making recurring donations.
