The Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library is seeking new members for our Board of Directors. 

Board Member Responsibilities Include:

• Agreement to and understanding of the bylaws.
• Attendance at regular meetings and special meetings.
  • Participation is expected at Friends fundraising events and Library events.
• Assistance in developing the structure and direction of the Friends Board.
• Approval and adoption of the budget each year in accordance with the bylaws.
• Support of the board chairs, library director and staff, Friends members, library patrons and volunteers.
• Donate annually to The Friends.
• Ideas, advice, insight, and suggestions directly relating to the development, fundraising, promotion, and advertising of the Friends Board.
• An overall belief in the organization.
• Active cardholder at the Lynchburg Public Library.

Purpose of the Friends of the Library Board of Directors
To maintain the nonprofit's mission, establish priorities, craft strategies, handle acquisition and release of resources, manage board membership requests, modify the bylaws, and ensure that plans and programs are implemented.

Board Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month, with the exception of December, July, and August.
