What We Do
Our goal is to support the vital services and programs provided by the Lynchburg Public Library. The Lynchburg Public Library provides free services to all residents living within the City of Lynchburg and the surrounding counties.
Since the establishment of the Lynchburg Public Library in 1966, the Friends have promoted literacy, advocated for the development of library services, encouraged community support, and funded projects to support library services by providing equipment, materials and programs.
Interesting Info
In 1964, the Friends developed a grassroots campaign to establish a "Library to Serve All Citizens."
All programs and services at the Lynchburg Public Library are FREE and open to ALL!
We provide funding for library programs, such as Summer Reading and the Born to Read program that gives every new baby born at the VA Baptist their first book!
