Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, Inc

The purpose of the CVACL Advisory Council is to provide feedback to CVACL regarding the needs of seniors and persons with disabilities in Central Virginia and to provide advocacy for those populations. CVACL Advisory Council members provide representation for individuals residing in Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell. As a member of the Council, you will be kept informed of programs and services available through CVACL; any significant changes related to local services and supports; updates related to state, regional, and federal initiatives related to seniors and persons with disabilities; and CVACL will ask for your input regarding the development of the annual Area Plan, which stipulates the services and supports targeted for Central Virginia's seniors and persons with disabilities.

We are seeking:

• Older individuals (including minority individuals) who are participants or who are eligible to participate in programs provided under the Older Americans Act. 
• Family caregivers and representatives of older adults and adults with disabilities. 
• Representatives of health care provider organizations (including providers of veterans’ health care, if appropriate). 
• Representatives of supportive services provider organizations. 
• Persons with leadership experience in the private and voluntary sectors. 
• Local elected officials. 
• Representatives of the business community. 
• The general public.
