Want to volunteer at the Lynchburg Humane Society? To qualify you must be at least 16 years old (kids ages 12-15 may volunteer with a parent or guardian), have a love for pets, and a desire to help. After filling out the appropriate applications on our website, you will complete a digital orientation and sign up for a First Day Shift to meet the Volunteer Coordinator, receive your Volunteer Lanyard, take a tour of the building, and ask any questions you may have before beginning. As part of the volunteer application process, we require a one-time volunteer training fee of $10 ($25 for CSER & Court/ School Ordered Volunteers) to help offset the costs of administrative processing, training materials, applicable background check fees, your volunteer badge, volunteer program maintenance, and other costs that leave a footprint in our finances so more can go toward animal care. We hope it is a small price to pay for wagging tails, sloppy kisses, purrs, and warm feelings every time you volunteer! For your convenience you can pay your volunteer fee online.
