Bring your time and talents to help us to promote and support our mission of helping horses, helping people. We meet once a month, right now by zoom. Mission: Through personal and direct participation as a volunteer of Director level staff, provide Brook Hill Farm the operational leadership, expertise, time and effort required to fulfill its mission of rescuing and rehabilitating horses while providing young people and adults with a therapeutic opportunity for physical and mental health disabilities. Purpose of the Board of Directors: A. To determine the mission and purpose of Brook Hill Farm. B. To develop and adopt the policies necessary for the management and control of the operations of Brook Hill Farm. C. To employ the Executive Director, in accordance with the job descriptions of Brook Hill Farm. D. To support and evaluate the Executive Director. E. To develop and implement, the strategic plan of Brook Hill Farm. F. To be sure Brook Hill Farm has the adequate resources to accomplish the strategic plan and operational needs of Brook Hill Farm. G. To approve and monitor the annual budgets of Brook Hill Farm. H. To communicate Brook Hill Farm’s story to the community. I. To ensuring Brook Hill Farm’s legal compliance. J. To recruit and orient new Directors for the Board of Directors. K. May adopt, amend or repeal all or any of the Bylaws of this organization by a two-thirds vote, along with the Board of Trustees, provided a quorum is present. Directors Responsibilities are as follows: A. Be present at a minimum of 70 percent of the regularly called meetings of the Board of Directors except as excused by the Board of Directors for reasons outside the Director’s control. B. Participate in board and committee discussions. C. Become familiar with and actively participate in Brook Hill Farm’s programs and affairs. D. Financially support Brook Hill Farm according to individual means and make solicitations. E. Advocate Brook Hill Farm’s purposes and principles in the community. F. Demonstrate behavior that reflects Brook Hill Farm’s values. G. Think strategically and demonstrate broad vision. H. Board Members will not be compensated for services as board members, except that by resolution of the Board, Directors may be reimbursed for expenses incurred on behalf of the organization. I. Avoid conflicts of interest, disclose possible conflicts, in a timely manner, and submit annual disclosures in accordance with Brook Hill Farm’s Conflict of Interest Policy. J. Participate on committees and board projects. K. Support Brook Hill Farm’s purposes and principles.
