For over 168 years, the YMCA of Central Virginia has been a cornerstone of community strength, evolving to meet the needs of those we serve. At our core, we turn mission into action - building a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all through programs that nurture thriving children, families, and communities. From empowering youth to reach their full potential, to supporting individuals in their wellness journeys, and creating opportunities for connection and belonging, the Y is here for everyone. Every day, we strive to create a foundation of health, confidence, and connection - because this isn’t just what we do; it’s who we are.
We focus our work in three key areas to make the greatest impact: Youth Development, where we help children and teens learn, grow, and achieve; Healthy Living, where we support individuals and families in building a lifetime of health and wellness; and Social Responsibility, where we bring people together to strengthen the community and inspire action.
- 58,210 people served through youth programs, wellness initiatives, community impact, and more.
