What We Do
The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities works with schools, businesses, and communities to achieve success by addressing prejudices, in all forms, in order to improve academic achievement, increase workplace productivity, and enhance local trust. Through workshops, retreats, and customized programs that raise knowledge, motivation, and skills, VCIC develops leaders who work together to achieve success throughout the Commonwealth.
In Central Virginia, VCIC works closely with local high schools through the Diversity Dialogue Day and Project Inclusion programs, and with local middle schools through the annual Prejudice Awareness Summit. In recent years, VCIC has also facilitated programs for Bedford County Public Schools, BWX Technologies, Community Access Network, Genworth, Lynchburg City Schools, Sweet Briar College, University of Lynchburg, and many other local institutions.
