What We Do

Patrick Henry's Red Hill is the final home and resting place of "the voice of the American Revolution," Patrick Henry. Red Hill welcomes visitors and families throughout the year, 362 days a year. Education is at the heart of our mission, welcoming over 2,000 school children and providing hands on learning so they can experience 18th century life, learn about Patrick Henry and his contributions as a Founding Father, as well as learn about the enslaved who lived, worked, and are buried here. Henry's original law office sits on the beautiful grounds here at Red Hill which Henry lovingly referred to as "one of the garden spots of the world." The museum houses the largest collections of Patrick Henry artifacts in the world. The Quarter Place is where the enslaved lived and is a half mile trail ending at the Enslaved Cemetery.

Providing field trips for local public, private, and home school groups as well as group tours for adults.

Interesting Info
  • By a 1986 Act of Congress, Red Hill was recognized as the official National Memorial to Patrick Henry. Red Hill receives no national or state funding.
  • Red Hill preserves, maintains and interprets 1,000 acres of Patrick Henry's original property.
  • Annually we serve over 2,000 school children from around the state and welcome over 10,000 visitors nationally and internationally.
