What We Do
Opera on the James attracts and involves Central Virginians in a full range of operatic arts by providing diverse, accessible productions performed by nationally and regionally acclaimed artists that educate, inspire, and engage. Opera on the James typically produces two mainstage operas annually, and delivers a wide variety of community engagement and outreach opportunities throughout the year, including Free Family Opera Day, Random Acts of Culture, and the video series #LifeTheseDays.
