Old City Cemetery protects the memories and shares the stories of the more than 20,000 people from all walks of life who are laid to rest in this special place filled with history and horticulture.
- OCC is the final resting place for more than 20,000 people from all walks of life and from all aspects of Lynchburg's history.
- Approximately 13,000 of those laid to rest here are of African descent, making OCC the largest African American burial ground in the greater Lynchburg area.
- Old City Cemetery strives to engage the greater Lynchburg area through history and horticulture and bring the stories of Lynchburg's yesteryear to life.
