What We Do
Mary Bethune Academy is the oldest childcare center in the City of Lynchburg, opening its doors in 1936 to serve children ages 6-weeks to five years of age. We are a proud United Way partner agency, focusing on kindergarten readiness for every child, whether that be three months away or three years. A dedicated staff of trained Lead & Assistant Teachers, some of whom have been employed at Bethune for over 25 years, work diligently to provide a safe and nurturing childcare experience for all who walk through our doors.

- MBA has the honor of serving multiple generations of our local families - it is not uncommon for a child to be enrolled at MBA because their parents were!
