What We Do

The Lynchburg Imagination Library is a program under the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc.  This book gifting program mails books to children from birth to age five, at no cost whatsoever to their families.

The average retail cost of Imagination Library titles is about $14.30 per book. However, by purchasing in volume, the Imagination Library is able to acquire and mail customized titles for about $2.60 per child per month or about $31.00 per year!  The cost accrued for these books is made possible through generous local sponsors and donors.

Our ultimate goal is to help increase early childhood literacy and kindergarten readiness.  Families residing in the City of Lynchburg with children up to age 5 can sign up to receive new, age-appropriate books that will be delivered to their homes monthly!
