Literacy Volunteers of Campbell County Public Library
What We Do
The Literacy Volunteers of Campbell County Public Library (LV-CCPL) tutors adults in basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages. Tutors usually meet once per week with their students for an hour to an hour and a half. Tutors do not need to speak a foreign language to tutor ESOL students. A college degree is not required, we train all tutors. We feel that we can empower students to improve their lives by improving their level of literacy. This yields positive results for the entire family and community at large.
