The audacious goal of changing outcomes for youth aging out of foster care is the foundation of Impact Living Services (ILS). The status quo is simply unacceptable. Impact Living Services operates under the principle that transformation does not come by services alone but rather by outcome-based services in the context of meaningful, engaged, and purposeful relationships. We believe that outcomes change when you take on an individual's full complexity and circumstance, so we offer various services throughout Virginia.
Our original and premier program, Independent Living, provides an array of physical needs, like housing and food, while embracing the often complex needs of a youth launching into adulthood by providing life skills assistance.
We also offer Counseling and Behavioral Health services that address the identified in-home needs of families.
Our Treatment Foster Care program offers additional training and resources to families who foster children with unique and complex needs.
Most recently, we added Impact First Responders, a program that provides peer-to-peer training and support and free counseling for first responders.
- Since we began in 2012, Impact Living Services has served 212 youth aging out of foster care through our independent living program.
- Our Treatment Foster Care program, which started in 2018, has placed 22 foster children with safe, supportive families.
- We have provided counseling for 1,019 children and youth through our behavioral health program in the last 8 years.
