Gleaning For The World

Gleaning For The World has been helping people through devastating disasters and difficult circumstances since 1998. Since then, we've met basic human needs in over 70 countries and more than 35 states. *We work locally in Central Virginia, providing food and hygiene items to those in need. This year, because of COVID-19, and the growth of food insecurity here locally, we've drastically increased our efforts to help our neighbors here at home. *We work internationally in the same capacity, whenever we get a call asking for help. *Internationally, we send critically needed medical supplies and equipment to impoverished villages where there may not be any medical provisions otherwise. *Our disaster relief work is ongoing. Whenever hurricanes, tornadoes, floods or fires occur... if we can help -- we help! *Our Wings program, now in it's 6th year, provides wash-&-reusabe feminine pads for women living in extreme poverty. *The Teddy Bear Brigade program receives and distributes approximately 35,000 stuffed animals each year to children living in poverty, as well as children affected by natural disaster. *We work hard to provide items to local veterans through monthly donations to the VA clinic.
