What We Do

Five18 offers family services, care, counseling, and community resources in Lynchburg, VA, and the surrounding communities.

FIVE18 is derived from 2 Corinthians 5:18 which states, “All this is from God, who reconciled himself to us through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” Because God pursues and restores healthy relationships with us, we are empowered to pursue and restore healthy relationships in the world around us.

Over the last decade, it’s become increasingly clear to us that preventative care, when compared to reactively serving individual needs, better equips a community to protect and uplift its vulnerable children and families. With the goal of reconciling families, this rebrand symbolizes our renewed commitment to long-term solutions, addressing the root issues of trauma in order to provide families with the opportunity for healing.

Our Vision

Every child with a thriving family, supported by a faithful community. We want to see mended futures for every family.

Our Mission

To build communities of faithful relationships that ensure children are safe and families are restored.

Our Strategy

Because every child has the right to a safe and healthy home, we are leading the charge to confront the reasons foster care exists. We do this by…

  1. Meeting families right where they are, building meaningful relationships with them.
  2. Equipping the church and community (organizations, businesses, etc.) for collaboration.
Vision30

This movement is a time-limited, geographic-specific, community-wide collaboration that coincides with our vision. The heart of Vision30 is that by the end of 2030, every child in Lynchburg and the four surrounding counties will be safe in their own family or in another setting with caregivers who are supported by a local faith community.
