The Daura Museum of Art enhances the University of Lynchburg’s academic mission, transforms learning through encounters with art, advances creative collaboration with all fields of study, and furthers the appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts and cultural heritage for all University of Lynchburg constituents and beyond.
The Daura Museum presents a wide range of historical and contemporary exhibitions that allow viewers to experience new artistic approaches, varied techniques and mediums, and thought-provoking concepts and ideas.
The permanent collection at the Daura Museum consists of past and present artworks by American and European artists, outsider art, essential works by Pierre Daura, Queena Stovall, Georgia Morgan, and Raphael Alphonso Umaña, and the world cultures collection featuring art and artifacts from Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
