What We Do
CodeVA is a non-profit that partners with schools, parents, and communities to bring equitable computer science education to all of Virginia’s students.
CodeVA increases access to computer science education by training educators in state-wide professional development courses, offering student programs in arts-integrated computer science out-of-school-time classes, and advocating for the inclusion of computer science curriculum throughout K-12 education. CodeVA’s teacher professional development programs are well established statewide, with an adjunct faculty of over 50 facilitators with specialized training in providing CS teacher professional development, at no cost to public school teachers. Training is provided at all grade levels, including elementary and middle school coach programs intended to create local capacity to scale to all classrooms.
