What We Do

The Coalition for HIV Awareness and Prevention (CHAP) is a local nonprofit organization that educates the community about HIV/AIDS, coordinates services for people with HIV/AIDS and their families, and supports Central Virginia’s efforts to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS. CHAP provides FREE HIV testing and counseling throughout Central Virginia. CHAP implements many outreach programs throughout the year, including the Taking the Lead Youth Summit, World AIDS Day, National HIV Testing Day, and the National Week for the Healing of AIDS. CHAP also provides HIV/AIDS awareness materials and informational sessions to schools, civic organizations, youth centers, jails, businesses, colleges, and churches.
