What We Do
Churches for Urban Ministry has five programs:
Camp Timothy is a five-week Bible based summer camp for children between the ages of 5-14.
The Timothy Academy is an after school tutoring and enrichment program for grades 1-5. In 1999, a Master Partnership was established with Lynchburg City Schools (Robert S. Payne Elementary).
Training Young Men Successfully (TYMS) is a mentoring program for high school students.
The Community Grow and Give Garden teaches our children where healthy food comes from and gives them the opportunity to be a part of the planting, weeding and harvesting process.
The Food Pantry is a vital and much needed ministry in the community. Our mission is to work with and assist other community based organizations with combating poverty and hunger in the City of Lynchburg.
Our #GivingTuesdayGreaterLYH greatest need is donations.
