Bedford Urban Garden, Inc.
What We Do
Bedford Urban Gardens builds community through 100% donation of organic produce grown in designated “giving” beds; through rental of growing plots (raised beds) to local residents who enjoy the camaraderie and benefits of the community garden environment; and through educational activities that share vegetable gardening techniques – including our mentorship program, which provides a family with two garden beds, and all the seeds, plants, tools and know-how they need to have a successful gardening experience.
Interesting Info
- We have 53 raised full of organic compost. Most beds are rented by individuals.
- Eleven beds are for growing produce that is donated to Bedford Christian Ministries and John Early Apartments (low income housing for seniors).
- Two beds are reserved for our mentor program where a family learns how to grow as garden.
