Park View Community Mission

Volunteer Opportunity:
Community Resource Center - Thursdays
I'm Interested!

Park View Community Mission is creating an opportunity for those we serve in the City of Lynchburg and surrounding counties to have someone available to help whatever their need may be. Every week we will have volunteers available onsite to help with neighbors we serve. Their primary mission will be to listen, engage, provide immediate assistance, and referrals to additional agencies that can help the neighbors we serve. This opportunity is also open to anyone who may come through the doors of Park View which often extends our reach to other states. Our Community Resource Center is leading this effort in gathering local volunteers, counselors, pastors, and agencies to come and listen to the needs of those we serve. This will open an opportunity for those we serve to get connected and be mentored during a critical time for most families. We operate through partnerships with many local agencies and businesses which allows us to provide a wide range of resources and information. You can serve for a portion or all of the time detailed.

The long-term vision for our volunteers will build and stabilize a team that will lead and grow these efforts. The poverty rate in the 24501-zip code where Park View operates is 41.9%. This rate is the fourth highest in all of Virginia. Most of the poverty we see has existed for generations. Sustaining long term help, education, opportunities, and stabilizing families in our community will lead to real transformation for those we serve. Thank you for joining us in serving our community!
