Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg

Our primary volunteer opportunity is meal delivery, late morning, Monday through Friday. It takes about 90 minutes to deliver a route. Volunteers use their own vehicles, pick up fresh hot meals (with cold accompaniments) from one of 4 pickup locations and deliver to 8-12 recipients (route sheet with directions provided). We serve the city of Lynchburg, Rustburg, Madison Heights, and Forest so there is likely a route that will be convenient for you! You can be scheduled for twice a month, once a month, once a week, or once in a while. You can also sign up for our 'sub list' - not a regular schedule, but available to be called in advance when there are openings.
