About craveABLEs
craveABLEs is a nonprofit organization creating meaningful employment and training opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through our ice cream storefront, mobile ice cream truck, and involvement throughout the community, our ABLE employees have opportunities to work, grow in independence, build confidence, and showcase their ABILITIES.
Our mission goes far beyond ice cream. craveABLEs provides a place for our employees to belong, contribute, and be seen for what they can do while helping our community see the value of inclusive employment.
Potential Board Member
We are looking for individuals who genuinely believe in the mission of craveABLEs and want to be involved in helping the organization continue to grow. This is not a position with a specific officer title or specialized board role. Instead, we are looking for board members who are willing to contribute their time, ideas, strengths, and connections where they can be most helpful.
Two areas where additional board support would be especially valuable are grant writing and fundraising.
• Grant Writing: Helping identify grant opportunities, research potential funders, assist with applications, gather information needed for proposals, or support the grant process based on experience and interest.
• Fundraising Events: Helping plan, organize, promote, and carry out fundraising events throughout the year. This includes bringing ideas to the table, helping with event details, encouraging attendance, seeking sponsorships when appropriate, and being actively involved in making our events successful.

Winter - Soirée Impact Night / Donor Appreciation Dinner & Dance
Our winter event brings together supporters, donors, sponsors, families, and community members to celebrate the impact of craveABLEs, recognize our ABLE employees, thank those who support our mission, and raise funds for the year ahead.
Spring - craveABLEs Cup Mini Golf Tournament
Our annual spring mini golf tournament is a fun, community-centered fundraiser that brings together teams, businesses, sponsors, families, and supporters while raising funds to continue the mission of craveABLEs.
What We Are Looking For
• Someone who believes in the mission of craveABLEs
• Willingness to be an active and dependable member of the board
• Interest in helping with grant writing and/or fundraising events
• A willingness to contribute ideas and help where their strengths fit best
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and following through on commitments
• A desire to help craveABLEs grow and create more opportunities for our ABLE employees
Board members do not need to come in with an established donor network or be experts in every area. We value people who care about our mission, are willing to participate, and want to use their individual strengths to help craveABLEs continue moving forward.
