What We Do
Avoca Museum and Historical Society collects, preserves, and interprets the cultural history of the Altavista area and of Campbell County for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.
Avoca Museum also seeks to create a unique experience for the greater Altavista area and its visitors by providing a venue for special cultural events.
Interesting Info
Unlike most museums that interpret a single historical event or personality, Avoca Museum interprets twelve millennia of human history!
Avoca is a significant site for Native American, Revolutionary War, African-American, Women's, Civil War, Edwardian America, and Architectural areas of study.
