Join us to hear entomologist, ecologist and Professor at the University of Delaware Doug Tallamy speak about "The Little Things that Run the World" and the importance of native plants to counter biodiversity loss through habitat restoration. Doug Tallamy's research examines how native and introduced plants differ in their ability to support insects and the animals that feed on them. His nonprofit organization Homegrown National Park and his books Nature's Best Hope, The Nature of Oaks and Bringing Nature Home, outline the role of home gardeners to reintroduce native plants in their yards to preserve and protect the "little things that run the world".
This event is FREE and open to the public. Doug Tallamy will be in the lobby signing books together with vendors at 6 pm and the speaking event begins at 7 pm.
