For 32 years, World Help has been serving countries around the globe from right here in Lynchburg, Virginia, as a humanitarian aid organization sending lifesaving supplies to over 20 nations annually.
World Help sends over 80 containers a year of lifesaving aid. The main mission of the organization is “to bring help and hope” by meeting physical needs and shipping supplies such as clothing, hygiene items, mattresses, food, medical supplies and more.
Join us on Wednesday, March 27 for the SHARE Lunch and Learn hosted by the Lynchburg Humane Society at 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd in Lynchburg.

At first, Harvest Outreach Center started their organization serving two clients, now they are serving up to 350 students on any given day in both Lynchburg City and Campbell County school systems, and their own private school for students with disabilities, Beacon Academy in Rustburg.

When children are involved in group activities like soccer, basketball and tennis, their physical skills can increase, they help keep children healthy and active and even help their socialization. However, for many families it is expensive and hard to introduce their children to team sports.

For some children, a stable home with caring guardians is a luxury. However, mentorship programs like Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Virginia seek to match children ages 6 - 16 with caring mentors who are a part of the Lynchburg community and beyond.
