Shop for GoodGive TodayGive Your Time is your answer for #GivingTuesdayGreaterLYH. This year's Giving Tuesday is November 30, 2021 and we're going to #ShareLoveLYH!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Two billion dollars were donated to nonprofits around the globe in 2020. Many were small gifts from first time donors.

How can you get involved in Giving Tuesday?
When you explore, you will have access to 129 nonprofit profiles, 92 volunteer opportunities, and 600 wishlist items, all in the Greater Lynchburg area!  Many have shared their greatest needs right now:

Academy Center of the Arts: Our greatest need is support & art supplies for our education access program, Academy in Motion.

Adult Care Center of Central Virginia: Our greatest needs are snacks for our participants and cleaning supplies.

Agape Center Lynchburg: Our greatest need is monetary donations for purchasing beds for our clients. 

Amherst County Museum and Historical Society: Our greatest need is donations for operating costs.

Amherst Glebe Arts Response, Inc. (AGAR): Our greatest need is for funding to pay artist fees to the musicians and poets who bring to life our chamber music, jazz concerts, poetry writing and music workshops for and with students of all ages.

Bedford Area Education Foundation: Our greatest need is to fund more education grants in 2022. Now more than ever we need to support our teachers and to support classroom innovation!

Blue Ridge Area Food Bank: Our greatest need are funds to purchase food to distribute safely to our neighbors-in-need via front line network partners (food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens) serving your community.

Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg: Boys & Girls Club has a challenge match of $3,000!! This means every donation made to the Club is matched up to $3,000. This is a great way to deepen your donation impact this year!  

Bower Center for the Arts: Our greatest need is chairs for concerts and performances!

Building Bridges Productions, Inc.: Our greatest need is financial support, sponsorship, supplies and volunteers.  

CASA of Central Virginia: Our greatest needs are volunteers and donations.

Children's Advocacy Center of Bedford- A program of Children's Trust: Our greatest need is children's coloring materials (books, crayons, colored pencils, etc.)

DePaul Community Resources: Our greatest need is communication boards for the adults in our Developmental Disabilities programs.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL): Our greatest need is funding that will provide monthly books for all children in Lynchburg under the age of 5.  Each $25 donation supports one year of books for one child.

Endstation Theatre Company: Our greatest needs is funding.

Free Clinic of Central Virginia: Our greatest need is funds to purchase food items and storage for our "food pharmacy" for our patients. Please consider a donation here.

Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity: Our greatest need is donations to help fund homes for families in need of affordable housing.

Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center: Our greatest need is Tyvek Wristbands. We need these for our 2,000 youth that attend 4-H Summer Camp. These bands are essential for keeping our campers safe. You can find them on our Give Shop Wish List!

Impact Living Services: Our greatest need is decorative items for our Twelve Days of Christmas celebration.  Find the link to donate on our profile!

Interfaith Outreach Association: Our greatest need is financial support so that we can directly assist our neighbors facing eviction and utility terminations.

James River Association: Our greatest need is donations to help supplement our cancelled in-person education opportunities to connect kids with our precious natural resources!

Johnson Health Center: Our greatest need is to supply donations for our food and baby pantries. You can find them on our Give Shop Wish List!

Junior League of Lynchburg: Our greatest need is funding toward our period poverty initiative to stock period pantries at community partner locations! This funds immediate hygiene needs for those unable to afford and access these resources.

Kuumba Dance Ensemble: Our greatest need is a reliable van to transport our children and equipment to performances as well as pick up children for classes and rehearsals.

Lynchburg Art Club: Our greatest need is for a treasurer with a background in finance and passion for art.

Lynchburg Beacon of Hope: Our greatest need is a purchase from our Holiday Gift Giving Catalog! You can find the link on our profile.

Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc.: Our greatest need is Secondary School Supply Pack sets. You can find them on on our Give Shop Wish List!

Lynchburg Daily Bread: Our greatest need is cleaning supplies and paper towels. You can find them on our Give Shop Wish List!

Lynchburg Grows: Our greatest need is to increase membership in The Veggie Society. Individual Members get discounts and early access benefits, along with monthly giveaway drawings that support local small businesses, while Business Members get important brand exposure through our website and communications with the community. Recurring donations provide us with steady, reliable revenue, which helps our organization with planning, budgeting, and overall stability.

Lynchburg Humane Society: Our greatest need is Purina Dog, Cat, Puppy, & Kitten Chow.

Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra: Our greatest need is financial support from individual supporters and corporate sponsors.

Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg: Please consider a donation: $5 provides a meal, $110 provides a month of meals for a neighbor in need!

Miriam's House: Our greatest need is for laundry detergent which you can find on our Give Shop Wish List and it will ship directly to us!

No Walls: Our greatest need is for volunteers. You can find many volunteer opportunities on our SHARE profile right now!

One Community One Voice: Our greatest need is 24" bicycles.

Park View Community Mission: Our greatest needs are personal hygiene items, snack foods and winter weather accessories (hats, gloves, etc.) Find these items on our Give Shop Wish List!

Patrick Henry Family Services: Your #GivingTuesday donation to PHFS supports our Homes of Hope (HoH) ministry, a program that provides a home for single mothers and their babies, and equips them with the lifeskills and parent education needed to create a stable and meaningful future. Every donation toward our bold goal of $25,000 goes to support these young women, enabling them to keep their children safe and create a bright future.

Riverviews Artspace: Our greatest need is for board members.

Roads to Recovery: Our greatest need is donations to our scholarship fund to support those who have no resources when they come to Roads to Recovery.

SML Good Neighbors: Our greatest need is fundraising for our summer programs.

The Listening, Inc.: Our greatest need is funding to support our programming.

The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg: Our greatest need is for volunteer bell ringers during the holiday season. Please sign up today under our Volunteer Opportunities!

Vector Space: Our greatest need is shop rags.

Virginia Amateur Sports Inc. (VAS): Our greatest need is for partners to help us provide opportunities to economically disadvantaged athletes and opportunities for athletes of all ages to stay active and healthy!

YWCA of Central Virginia: Our greatest needs are Cash donations, Blankets, Coats, Gloves, Scarves, Towels/Washcloths, Standard Pillow Cases, Sheet sets, laundry and dish detergent, disposable plates and utensils, and reusable shopping bags.
World Help: On Giving Tuesday, all gifts to help "where needed most" will be matched.

-Search for a cause that matters to you
-Hold a workplace giving campaign 
-Encourage your business to donate a percent of sales (of an item or the whole day) to your favorite cause
-Find volunteer opportunities – in-person or virtual – at
-Donate your skills to a cause that matters to you
-Host a volunteer activity at your work, benefiting a nonprofit, for staff and customers
-Encourage your company to announce a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) plan for 2022

-Collect items nonprofits need (ex. diapers, books, school supplies, personal hygiene products, blankets, etc)
