Corn-A-Ment Committee

The Corn-A-Ment committee assist the Beacon of Hope Development Director in planning and holding this annual fundraiser for the organization. The committee meets monthly in the evening at 5:30 beginning in the fall before the event is held in May. The committee assist the Development Director at Lynchburg Beacon of Hope with recruitment of teams, map out and plan the logistics of the May event, as well as volunteer the evening of the Corn-A-Ment.

With the generous support of local individuals and businesses, Beacon of Hope holds this annual Corn-A-Ment Tournament usually at Oakwood Country Club. Oakwood Country Club provides the perfect venue to high light individual Corn-A-Ment teams. These teams are sponsored by local businesses, individuals, families, and Beacon of Hope board members, as they competed in a fun cornhole tournament to support Beacon of Hope in its mission to increase the number of students who matriculate on to some form of postsecondary education. Funds raised from this event assist students in their pursuit of post-secondary education at technical or trade schools, 2 year or 4-year higher education.
